Our lives are busy with new things to remember and keep track of. Follow these simple suggestions to help keep it all straight.
A process called priming can help you remember. When you’re priming memories, you remember related things in hopes of remembering the “lost” information. For example, if you forget where you’ve put your keys, you retrace your steps. You try to remember where you were and what you were doing, priming out the memory of where you let your keys.
You can structure information all sorts of ways to help you remember it. You can overlearn the material you want and get feedback while you’re learning it. If you organize the information be serializing, chunking, or even rhyming it, you can remember it. Break the information into bite sized segments that are easier to remember.

You see them on cable TV, sharing stories about how they took a course on how to invest in real estate and became millionaires overnight--with nothing down and no credit hassles from mortgage lenders.
If all this sounds too good to be true--it is! These "get-rich-quick" courses and schemes are being investigated by consumer fraud agencies around the country. This does not mean that you can't become a millionaire by investing in real estate. Investing in real estate requires one important thing from you--an investment of cash. You can't build an empire overnight, but you can do very well over the long term by selecting property in a good location that is priced well, and which can provide a reasonable cash flow.

Moving can create concern and anxiety for children that their parents may not pick up on right away. It usually means leaving favorite playmates, going to a new school, and a lot of uncertainty about what a new neighborhood will be like.
Be sure to include everyone in the discussions about the move, and invite the children to participate in house hunting trips.
Work with a Realtor who is comfortable with children and sensitive to their needs, and stay alert to dealing with their concerns.
Small children can be drawn into the process of showing the house by keeping their toys and clothes picked up. Teenagers may be especially sensitive about strangers invading their space and may resist making that space “show well”. It is important that all of the family members are prepared to stay out of the way when the house is being shown.

Time to check your house for seasonal safety.
Taking a few simple --but smart-- measures can greatly increase your home security:
* Keep your doors locked and make sure all doors have deadbolt locks of at least 1" to 1 1/2".
* Have "pry-proof" locks on your windows.
* Keep shrubbery trimmed so that neighbors can see your windows and entrances and they don't serve as hiding places for intruders.
* Keep all entrances well-lighted at night. There are a variety of inexpensive spotlight systems with motion sensors which will turn on the lights when any movement takes place within a certain range.

Most appointments to view a house are arranged for the convenience of both parties. Prospective buyers are sometimes on tight schedules and the Realtor has to make last-minute appointments.
Sellers shouldn’t be annoyed by last-minute appointments. These appointments have the highest percentage of success in sales. Why?
Often the prospects are on a whirlwind house-hunting trip. They don’t have the luxury of time on their side, but they have money, and an urgent need for a house -- right now. The busy prospect is more likely to make an immediate offer than the buyer who has all the time in the world. If you really want to sell your house in a hurry, treat last-minute appointments as an opportunity -- not an inconvenience.
